Close to Lleida, in Catalonia, you will find the route 7 Lakes of Colomèrs. These are the mountain lakes situated in the Valley of Arán. We recommend not going with children because this route is pretty difficult. But for sure, you are going to enjoy the natural beauty which will amaze you. When staying in a holiday rental in Catalonia, you should visit the Aigües Tortes Park and the San Mauricio Lake. During this route you will have the opportunity to discover impressive mountainous areas with pine trees. The route begins in the parking of Prat de Pierró and finishes at the San Mauricio Lake. This is a save route which means that it is also suitable for children.
If you are going to visit the province of Zaragoza, you cannot miss to discover the Stone Monastery Natural Park in Alhama de Aragón. In this Cistercian Monastery of the 12th century, there are lots of impressive cascades and caves with water. It is a perfect route for families. There are also some places with tables and shade where you can eat and take a break. One of the best placed to go hiking in Spain, and it doesn’t matter with who you go!
You can also visit the Ordesa Valley. There is an easy path where everyone can take a walk. You will also have an opportunity to discover the famous Gradas de Soaso where the natural steps are covered with the river water and finishes with an impressive cascade called the Cola de Caballo.
If you go to the North, especially to Galicia, you should know that there are many amazing routes. If you choose an apartment in Pontevedra, you can make a route in Cíes Islands and go to the sea. This archipelago consist of three islands: the Monteagudo, Do Foro and San Martiño. There are many routes, also guided. The most important are the Campana, Alto del Prícipe and Intermareal.
Ever heard of A Coruña? It is located in the province of Galicia. Here you can visit the Monastery of Caaveiro which is located next to the Eume River which will lead you straight to the Monastery of Caveiro. This is an easy route with only a few difficult elements. Here you can eat something and then go to A Capelo which is a perfect place to have a break and relax.
If you continue your adventure in the North and you stay in Cantabria, you can discover the Cabárceno Natural Park. Many years ago there was an iron mine. Now you will find a great variety of European, African and Asiatic fauna. This is an ideal place for a family trip. There are also some places to eat and other zones for small children with a wide range of services.
In the Balearic Islands, especially if you visit Majorca, you can go hiking in the Sierra de Tramuntana. Here you can enjoy the most beautiful landscapes in the North East zone. This is a perfect place to have a rest and discover beautiful coves and virgin beaches. One of the routes you can make will lead you to the Monasteries of Lluco or Saint Salvador. During your trip you will have an opportunity to learn more about the culture and history of Majorca.
In Andalusia has also lots of hiking routes. For example in Granada, where you can participate in the route of Cahorros. This is also a good place to practice climbing. If you choose the route close to the Monachil River, you will be amazed with the beautiful mountainous landscapes.
