Besides the many family activities, nightlife and theme parks, Benidorm is one of those destinations in Spain with great beaches to enjoy the warm temperatures. Benidorm is located only 45 kilometres from Alicante with in between all kinds of fishing villages to discover. However, today we will tell you about the three most important beaches in Benidorm that you should visit during your next holidays in Spain.
Levante Beach
This is one of the two most important beaches of Benidorm, and also the second biggest. Although it isn’t the largest beach, it is the most visited beach due to its Blue Flag for its good quality. It has a total length of 2 kilometres with an amazing promenade where you can walk on and enjoy the sun falling on the sea on one side, and on the other side the great skyscrapers. Along the promenade there are many restaurants, bars and cafes where you can try both international cuisine and the typical Spanish tapas.
Especially in summer, this beach is full of both tourists and locals enjoying the balmy weather. Therefore, the beach is full of sun loungers, parasols and water sports activities. Fun for everyone!
Poniente beach
Poniente Beach is the other one of the two most important beaches of Benidorm. It is located east of the Levante beach and starts at the Old Town of Benidorm. This beaches is larger, stretching more than 3 kilometres, but more quiet than Levante Beach. If you don’t like to be surrounded by international tourists, you’ll like Poniente Beach more. The beach is very popular among the Spanish holidaymakers.
Also along this beach you’ll find many restaurants and bars, as well as a complete range of services and leisure facilities, such as floating platforms, children’s games, recreational sports games, shadow areas or the service of accessible beaches, which facilitate access and enjoyment for people with reduced mobility.
Malpas beach
The last beach is located next to the Benidorm harbour where it overlooks the castle cliffs and where it separates Levante Beach from Poniente Beach. It is a small and quiet cove that allows you to enjoy the calm atmosphere. Like Poniente Beach, it is less crowded than Levante Beach but also way smaller: it has a length of only 120 metres. However, this cove also has a great quality and its Blue Flag proves that. Since it is very quiet, the services are very minimum – but you can do rent sun loungers for example.
Besides, north of this cove you’ll find the amazing viewpoint of “The Balcony of the Mediterranean” and from the beach itself you can even catch sight of the Island of Benidorm. A perfect place for full relaxation.
