Charming beaches of the Costa Blanca
La Caleta Beach in Villajoyosa
The first beach of our top 5 is the La Caleta Beach in Villajoyosa. It mixes sand areas with pebbles that results in a quiet little beach, with turquoise and crystalline waters, moderate waves and separated from the main urban core. It is perfect to spend a day enjoying the sun and the good temperatures of Alicante. It also has all kinds of services such as rental of umbrellas and hammocks, water scooters, kiosk… Of course, it is also awarded the Blue Flag and can be accessed either by car or on foot.
Tabarca Island
Also in Alicante, although its surrounded by the waters of the Mediterranean, it’s another of our favourite spots on the Costa Blanca: Tabarca Island. A Natural Reserve converted into a paradise for tourists and which can be accessed by boat from the towns of Alicante, Santa Pola, Benidorm or Guardamar del Segura. Even though it is saturated with tourists every season, its main beach known as Tabarca or Levante Beach is one of the best in this area of Alicante. You will also find all kinds of services for your day of sun and beach, from restaurants to rental of water scooters; it is ideal to visit both as a family and as a couple or with friends. The beach is a mix of golden sand with areas of more gravel, but the seabed is totally crystalline and invites bathers to discover the fauna and flora under water.
La Granadella Beach in Jávea
When we think of a small paradise of crystalline waters with a turquoise hue, we are talking about one of the most desired beaches of the Costa Blanca: the La Granadella Beach in Jávea. Surrounded by nature, it is considered one of the jewels of the town, yes, a little further away from the urban core which makes it even more precious. Only 200 metres long and just over 20 metres wide, this little gravel beach has been awarded with Blue Flag for almost 30 years. Despite appearing to be a hidden place, it is one of those visited by diving enthusiasts or by any tourist who wants to enjoy the Mediterranean in the heart of the Costa Blanca. Although it is relatively small, due to its high number of visitors, it has all kinds of services: lifeguard, parking, Red Cross, toilets, restaurant … Do you want a dream vacation? Do not miss this gem.
Cantal Roig Beach in Calpe
One of the most beautiful locations on the Costa Blanca, and therefore also one of the most visited in the summer months, we are talking about Calpe. With its spectacular Rock of Ifach starring the coast of the city, it has a total of 11 beaches and coves that are worth visiting. We have chosen one of the quietest that still has its special charm due to the nature that surrounds it: the Cantal Roig beach. It is one of the smallest, with less volume of tourists, and is next to the Rock and the fishing port. It has some rocky areas in the water, so if you are someone who likes to explore, we recommend appropriate shoes for it. Are you going to spend your holidays in Calpe? Discover here the best things to do!
Carabassí Beach in Elche
Unlike most of the beaches in our ranking where we can find areas of gravel or pebbles, the Carabassí Beach in Elche stands out for being a large stretch of fine golden sand. In fact, its main charm is that it is formed by a system of dunes and pine forests that make it one of the best beaches of the Costa Blanca to enjoy a few days in front of the Mediterranean. Also, if you are one of those who likes to enjoy the sea in nudist areas, you should know that Carabassí Beach has a part for naturists. You will also find all kinds of services to make your sunny day on the beach perfect. You will feel completely surrounded by nature!
As you can see, on the Costa Blanca you can find all kinds of bathing areas that adapt to the needs of any tourist. Of course, all of them have a characteristic in common: the waters of the Mediterranean that bathe them are turquoise and crystal clear.
